Day 2

Errrrr jet lag anyone?

Christine arose early and spent a leisurely morning waiting for me to appear. It was a slightly longer wait than planned......

My excuse is the carousing gentlemen arriving here for their annual award ceremony - an event the thought of which had obviously left them somewhat overjoyed as they partied in the corridor till 4 in the morning. At least that's what it sounded like. So it's not only the brits who can't handle a lager or ten.....

However a leisurely stroll around the local area and a light lunch proved to be an enjoyable afternoon. The hotel is in an area dominated by the jewellery trade so lots of shop windows of seriously sparkly bling to ogle over. You would certainly stand out at a party after shopping here.

This evening saw us having dinner in a small shopping and restuarant complex near the hotel. It is aimed at tourists but very low key. We were entertained by a traditional music and dance group who were obviously still putting their act together. It was quite endearing as even they quietly laughed when things went wrong.

So tonight it's early to bed and here's hoping that the gentlemen we saw earlier joyfully carrying their awards aren't going for a repeat of last nights performance!
